Please update your flash player
If you’ve been here before, you will have noticed I have not only moved servers but also overhauled this whole site as well as giving it a swanky new look. Apart from the simple fact that change is good, I have a few key reasons for the update:
Speed
My old server was SLOW, and I apologise for that. The ridiculous thing is, it got slower and slower as time went on! Proportionally, my bounce rate went up, and so I finally decided that enough is enough. So I moved to Smudge, and in the UK at least everything is now running at top speed.
Coherence
As I am also in the process of rebuilding my portfolio site, I felt it was time to integrate this with my blog, daily sketchbook, client area and webmail. The later sections will be arriving soon so I’ll let you know.
Time
I’ve been a terrible blogger lately. Ironically, I have been at my most productive, but simply have not had the time to write tutorials or to clean up my experiments before sharing them with you. The plus side is, I now have several projects and experiments to put up here which will be appearing in a quick but intentionally staggered manner.
Motivation
I am a firm believer that change is as good as a break, and since I have had both (with respects to this blog at least) I now feel more prolific and will make sure you share in the bounty. Several old source codes need updating and refining, and as my Actionscript 3 skills have got much sharper in the last few months there will be plenty of source code appearing soon, as well as drawings and other creative projects.
On the whole, this new site is in shape, but it is still a work in progress, and so if you have any problems, suggestions or comments then let me know and get involved with the discussions on the posts.
Thanks for coming back – see you soon!

Hey man! Good to see you’re clearing the lungs and all. This redesign is indeed a breath of fresh air.
Keep up the good work man - looking forward to the new portfolio site aswell.

Cheers Dave ;)
Haha, Not too sure about the lungs though! A few rollups were sparked and smoked during the creation process, but hey, the sun is coming out more often so I’ll be packing in the outdoor activities to compensate. And likewise – I’m looking forward to the next instalment of DaveMania. Roll on the summer!

Hey Soulwire..
Great Site… I stumbled across your site looking for AS3 Visualizations, (mainly graphing stuff.. but came across you music visualizer - Great Stuff!) , I really like the work that your doing and the style you added to all of your work. I have recently been doing a lot of work with Phidgets,, I would highly recommend giving them a go.
Cheers, I shall add u to Google Reader.

I must say, I can not agree with you in 100%, but it’s just my opinion, which could be very wrong.
p.s. You have an awesome template . Where have you got it from?

This piece is a huge rip of James Paterson. Infact, there is a lot of work on here that is directly taken from Paterson’s work. Check out http://www.presstube.com to see.

It’s just a placeholder for the post dude! 10 minute experiment with a few scanned drawings, its not hanging in the Tate. Chill your boots.
