Hi Juan,

I don’t have the time to write a scrollbar – but have you tried using the “shuffleList” method? You can pass an integer, either positive or negative and it will scroll the list up or down.

So once you’ve set up your scroll bar, when it changes send this to the list:

For example, if the the scrollbar is moved up, call:

listMc.shuffleList (-1);

It should only be a question of some simple math to work out the change as the scroll bar is dragged.

Have you downloaded and installed the tweening prototypes I used? http://laco.wz.cz/tween/

The initial setup method tweens the items into place so without the tween library nothing will happen!

Hello I downloaded your code and tried it but simply it does not response.
I put some traces() in various places but cant figure out what is wrong.
Any ideas ?

This works great but I was hoping to use it for xml loaded images either vertical or horizontal
Is this possible and could you help me out at all.

You could create a scrollbar using 2 sprites (a background and a drag handle). As the handle is dragged, find it's relitive position (i.e half way down represents the menu item closest to 50% of all items) and use the shuffleList function to scroll the list. Example:

var percent:Number = (dragger._y / scrollBackground._height) * numberOfItems;
// '<< 0' is a bitewise shift to create a whole number rather than a fraction
// Like, Math.round() but faster...
myList.shuffleList( percent << 0 );
